Dress a Day in July: The Ninth

Dress: Target | Sandals: Sam & Libby for Target

Day 9! The agenda for this day included spending some quality time with Kristi, one of my oldest/best friends, and getting my eyebrows threaded for the first time (surprisingly it wasn't that painful despite what I've heard, I'm a fan!). During the summertime when I want to be comfy and am not sure what to wear, I often turn to this chevron-printed dress from one of my favorite places EVER: Target! Those who know me may know about my slight Target obsession…I sometimes go there and browse just for fun (which, for the record, I don't think is that strange! Anyone care to back me up? :p). Anyways, I love the colors and pattern of the dress, as well as the slight high-low hem.  To finish off the outfit I wore some comfortable studded tan gladiator sandals that are also from Target. This was a purchase inspired by Chelseawears, one of my favorite Youtubers/bloggers hehe.

Dress a Day in July: The Eighth

Dress: Lush | Wedges: TOMS | Necklace: A find from Portobello Market (London…*cries*)

Here's day 8, finally! I'm currently working on catching up with ootd pictures...slowly but surely. This day was a very chill one for me (pretty sure all I did was get boba with my dad…which was probably the highlight of my day of watching Netflix haha), so I wore this comfortable dress from Lush that I've had for quite some time now. To make things a bit more interesting I wore my TOMS wedges and a delicate bird/floral necklace, one of my favorite finds from Portobello market in London.

Dress a Day in July: The Seventh

Dress: Forever 21 | Sunglasses: Team Starkid

This is a dress that I've owned since about sophomore year in high school…it's just so comfortable and easy to throw on. I suppose you could call it an "old faithful" in dress form. It's made of a thick almost sweater material which is not really the best choice in 100 degree weather, but I decided to wear it anyways! I added my pink Team Starkid sunglasses (oh the fond memories of my and my friends' "totally awesome" obsession with AVPM, AVPS, etc.!) to add a bit more color.

Dress a Day in July: The Sixth

Dress: Brandy Melville | Bikini Top: Target

Well I definitely jinxed myself in my last DADJ post and broke my consistent streak of blogging. My bad, now I really have a lot of catching up (and reshooting) to do. Anyways, this day was spent lounging around and swimming with three of my best friends, so I kept my outfit pretty casual. This Brandy Melville dress is very light and perfect for very hot weather, though I sometimes feel like the back of the dress is a bit risqué for day to day wear. The neckline of the dress is also a bit low, but this can be adjusted a bit (though this can make the back of the dress even lower and can also make the dress a bit too short…merp). Though I sometimes feel a bit iffy about wearing this dress out, I must say it makes quite a nice swimsuit cover-up!

Dress a Day in July: The Fifth

Dress: Brandy Melville | Shoes: Steve Madden | Necklace: Madewell

Here's another reshoot of my OOTD from July 5, a day when I was really just concerned with being comfy. This is my go-to little black dress from Brandy Melville, which is another favorite since the material is so soft. I also love the dipped neckline on the back of the dress, as it's a nice detail that makes a dress is a basic shape a little bit different. Fit and flare dresses are probably my favorite type of  silhouette when it comes to dresses, as I find them to be quite flattering. I originally wore my Birks with this outfit and did not have the necklace with me while on vacation, however I think my Steve Madden flats and the Madewell necklace added some nice detail to this simple outfit. I like the mixed metals combined with the sort of blank canvas of the dress.

Dress a Day in July: The Fourth

Dress: Primark | Sandals: Prabal Gurung for Target | Sunglasses: Karen Walker

This was my "Fourth of July" frock this year, which I had originally planned on wearing with a red lip…but I was too lazy on the day to slap some on. This dress is a Primark purchase that I'm very pleased with, as I had been wanting a chambray-ish dress and was in a very summery mood when I purchased it. I actually wore my Birkenstocks with this outfit (this will be one of a few OOTD reshoots since I haven't been able to take pictures every day…but I assure you that the dresses I post are what I actually wore!), but since you're probably sick of seeing my Birks I decided to wear one of my favorite pairs of sandals. I love the metal detailing along the straps, and I also love that these shoes are super comfortable. I almost always get sucked in by the designer collaborations with Target, and their collaboration with Prabal Gurung is probably my favorite. I decided to bring out my whimsical bright pink Karen Walker sunglasses (which I seriously need to wear more often), which paired nicely with the polka dot print and was the finishing touch to this fun look.

Dress a Day in July: The Third

Dress: LC  Lauren Conrad | Bag: Madewell | Shoes: Birkenstocks

On day 3 I was in the mood for a girly floral dress, and this LC Lauren Conrad dress is another one of my top favorite dresses that I've had for quite some time now! I really like the sheer sleeve detail and the overall structure of the dress' design. No surprise here that I paired this outfit with my trusty Madewell bag and beloved Birks. I've recently started reading Paper Towns by John Green which sitting on top of my bag, and I can't wait to continue reading since I'm a fan of Mr. Green's work!

These pictures were taken while lounging by the pool with Fran, who was my photographer yet again! It was a nice moment of relaxation indeed.

Until next time!
