Top: Madewell | Skirt: The Fara Workshop | Shoes: Madewell | Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

PC: Gina!

The title of this post is in reference to a series of posts from last year dedicated to my Styling and Journalism module's final project (side note: I continue to miss London A LOT these days...I seriously think about it all the time and it still hurts to see/hear about London-related things). My theme for my project was pattern/texture mixing, and I actually used this top in one of the posts (if you fancy checking them out, I posted the three outfits between September-November of last year).

When I first saw this skirt at The Fara Workshop, I was instantly drawn in by the bright and playful pattern. I also loved the grey panel on the front of the skirt, and thought that it added a unique element that you don't see every day. The Fara Workshop was probably my favorite shop in London, but sadly it's no longer there (there goes my chance of one day owning one of their unique patchwork dresses...le sigh!). I'm very glad I was able to add this piece to my wardrobe though!

I added one of my favorite lace tops to add a bit of texture to the outfit, and then slipped on my favorite minimalist slip-ons at the moment. Earlier in the day I had been wearing a jean jacket (seen in the second picture briefly, haha!) since it is always freezing in lecture, but outside is was the complete opposite and I was melting with it on.

Gina and I were quite inspired by the settings we were able to scout out for this OOTD. This day really showed me that it's possible to turn a location that may not seem photo-worthy into one that is with the angle that you choose to take. I loved the fire escape that we took some photos with (I feel like it gave off some NY-esque vibes), and the dark grey wall was a favorite of ours too. Probably one of the best discoveries of the day...haha!

Outtakes (prepare for maximum derp levels):

The moment when I noticed a huge bee buzzing near me

...and the moment the buzzing sounded like it was right in front of my ear, CRINGE.

Haha welp, I'll be back in a couple weeks once I'm finished with finals (send help and wish me luck...gah)...boo. It's currently 3:34 AM, and my day up until this point has consisted of finishing the last 3-quizzes-in-one-day Monday (YAS!), some necessary housekeeping tasks (aka crafting and baking for my last day of this semester's rotation), and finishing up assignment due this week. I am probably going to regret staying up this late when I'm attempting to wake up for 8 AM lecture tomorrow...oof. Anyways, talk to y'all in a few weeks!

Take care, 'til next time!

Alas, the final set of pictures of a simple/casual Disneyland OOTD from my LA trip (back in April..ahaha :p)! Teryn, Natalie, and I started the day off with a quick McDonald's breakfast run before making our way (not downtown!) to Disneyland. It's been about two years since I was last at Disneyland, and it was just as fun as always. The dream-like/magical atmosphere never fails to make you feel as if you're almost in another world, which is part of what makes DL so special. That and the fact that it reminds me of good times I've shared some of my best friends. I hadn't planned on taking outfit pictures since I just wanted to spend time with my friends, but Natalie ended up taking a few photos for me when we were walking around :) We spent the whole day at the parks, and later we met up with our friends, Lindsey and Jeremy, for dinner. We were able to ride Space Mountain together before calling it a day...definitely wasn't enough time with the fwends!

So there's kind of a funny story that goes along with my outfit choice. I had packed for LA in a bit of a rush (as per usual), and wasn't entirely sure about what I wanted to wear to DL. I decided that I wanted to center the outfit around this lovely embroidered Free People top that Teryn had gotten for me as a part of our Secret Santa Exchange this past year, but I wasn't pleased with the choices I had to pair the top with. I contemplated wearing a dress, but nixed that idea. I even though about wearing something of Natalie's, which I ended up doing because these shorts are hers (ahah, thanks girl!). My catchphrase the day before DL was that "I wasn't feeling my outfit," such a first world problem ;p And as I usually do for DL, I wore my bright fuchsia Nike Free Runs (comfortable feet are key!). Note to self for next time: take the time to pack ahead of time so that I always "feel" whatever it is that I'm wearing (such an Angelli prob), haha!

Instead of "outtakes," this week I'll tack on a couple of my favorite pictures from this day:

T-shirt: Everlane | Jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch | Cardigan: Brandy Melville | Shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target | Necklace: Wishlist London

PC: Natalie!

Before I begin this post, happy fourth of July! :) Hope everyone who celebrated had a great day! Currently posting this from San Francisco, where I went on a short trip with ze parents for the weekend.

This OOTD was taken in LA while exploring the canals in Venice with Natalie. I had never been to Venice before, and it was really cool to walk around the canals. There were so many beautiful/unique-looking houses to look at, I can only imagine what it's like to live in an area like that (although it might be a little weird seeing people just walking around/sightseeing near your house..haha)! After the canals, we headed to Abbot Kinney Boulevard for some window shopping. We also stopped at Intelligentsia, which was like a total hipster dream...and I loved it haha! We then headed back to Santa Monica, where we grabbed a quick bite of omusubi at Sunny Blue (SO GOOD, wishing I had some right nowww) and some ice cream next door before making our way to Jeremy's with Teryn on the eve of our Disney trip!

Seeing as how hot it has been lately now that summer has really kicked in, if I wore this outfit today I would probably melt. But when the weather was cooler and I wasn't entirely sure about what to wear, this combo of items were one of my go-to's, This Everlane shirt is so soft and comfy, and has a nice loose fit which I love. I've had this trusty cardigan for a few years now  and it's probably one of the softest things in my wardrobe...it actually feels like I'm wearing a blanket.
