Backtracking #4 (January 23: Bus and Boat Tours)

Day 4 marked the last day of orientation, and it was also the day that we would get to go on a bus and boat tour of London. After getting through the last bit of school business, we started off with the bus tour. Our tour guide was hilarious as he shared some trivia about certain places in London, and cracked a few jokes along the way.

On our bus tour, we started by going through Camden, then proceeded to go around the City of London. Of course we stopped at Buckingham Palace, and I decided to take more pictures again as it was sunnier than it had been the day before.

OOTD #3: February 26 (Return of the Skort)

Sweater: Brandy Melville | Skort: Zara | Boots: Office

I haven't worn a short in ages. Last week I finally decided to pick up the infamous and origami-esque Zara skort, and I must say I'm quite happy with it. I love the angular shape of it, and it's unlike anything else I have in my wardrobe (it also makes me feel a teensy bit edgy…ahaha).

Sunday Roomie Brunch & My First English Breakfast

Whenever I walk back to my building from the tube station, I always pass by a sign advertising an English breakfast. I've had a mental note reminding myself to have one while I'm in London, and today I made that happen.

OOTD #2: February 15 (Sequins at Somerset House)

My second attempt at an OOTD post is sort of an interesting one…as it is an outfit I wore while checking out London Fashion Week happenings at Somerset House! I will definitely write a separate post about LFW (which mainly involved people watching at Somerset House, but also seeing a couple celebs and TWO shows live and in person!! (not exactly from the seating area by the runway…but still awesome nonetheless)) as it has been beyond cool and is something that I'm really glad I was able to experience while in London!

Backtracking #3 (January 22: Exploring Iconic London)

Day 3 began with my orientation talks, but this time we wrapped up orientation business earlier and had more free time to spend ourselves. Regan, Jackie, Leah, Maren, and I decided it would be an optimal time for some sightseeing.

Backtracking #2 (January 21: Long Waits, the Tube, and a Pub Adventure)

(Sadly no pictures to post from day two, however my next post should have quite a few!)

Day two marked the beginning of orientation, and my first ride on the Tube! Since this was my first time going on the Tube, I pretty much followed Regan, Jackie, and Leah along the route we had to take. Upon arriving at the underground station, I soon realized that there were no people in the ticket windows, and that my credit card was not being read by the ticket machines. A moment of slight panic ensued as I was stuck on the opposite side of the gate to enter the underground as the rest of the group and didn't know what to do. Luckily, Regan talked to the assistance person who usually sits in a booth next to the gates and explained that we were all traveling together to get to school, and thankfully the kind man let me go through (woohoo for a free one way ride on the tube)!

A Short Story About a Rubbish First OOTD Attempt

It's kind of been a secret wish of mine to start a blog with fashion-y types of posts, and I figured what better time to start than with my new blog in the new year! I'll have to admit, I can be quite the awkward/shy person, so attempting to take pictures of my outfit today with Regan was quite the experience. OOTD's aren't the easiest things to do when you aren't used to taking them…especially if you're me. The first task was finding a location where there weren't many people walking around (which is a tad bit difficult when there is often so many people walking around), and the second was trying to "pose" without feeling like an idiot in public. We took a grand total of three pictures before a few people walked by and I started getting embarrassed, so I wimped out and called it a day. My friend, Melyssa (whose blog has some pretty awesome outfit posts/pictures), assured me that taking these kinds of pictures would eventually get easier after I told her about my slightly failed attempt (I sure hope she's right).

Backtracking #1 (January 20: The Arrival)

The lovely view from my window  (can you spot the Gherkin?)
Hello family and friends (or whoever may have stumbled upon this)!

This is a long overdue update on the beginnings of my adventures in London. I have quite the bad habit of being lazy/putting things off, but after being here for fifteen days (and having friends urging me to start the blog I said I would make whilst abroad) I figured it would probably be a good idea to start writing things down now before things become a blur (btw, thanks to Teryn and Natalie for the wonderful blog name!). This will be the first of quite a few "backtracking" posts… sorry in advance if my posts are much too long, I can't help that I'm a wordy person.
