Dress a Day in July: The Nineteenth

Dress: Free People | Button-down: Popbasic | Boots: Office | Bag: Beara Beara

On this day I tagged along with Natalie and her family on a trip to San Francisco to check out the ramen festival in Japantown. It was so crowded in Japantown that day, it was crazy. But before we went to Japantown, Natalie, Lizzi (Natalie's friend from school who we met up with), and I had some fun checking out a couple thrift stores (where I bought a dress that'll be featured in DADJ soon!). After eating some delicious ramen in Japantown, we ran into our friend, Megan, and her boyfriend, Anthony. Lizzi, Megan, and Anthony got some cute-looking crepes, while Natalie and I just held out for my favorite macaron place. All of us walked to the macaron shop, where Natalie helped me take pictures for this post (thanks again girl!).

I was anticipating some cooler weather in SF, but it actually ended up being pretty warm. I wore one of my favorite lace dresses from Free People, and layered my favorite button-down shirt from Popbasic on top. I'm a big fan of layering collared shirts with dresses and skirts, and I took the slightly cooler weather as an opportunity to bring out this button-down. I was able to wear my chelsea boots from Office for the first time in a while (almost wanted to write "forever" instead of "a while"…ehehe), and I also decided to take this trip into the city as a chance to use my Beara Beara leather satchel that I bought in London.

Here's an outtake in which Lizzi and I did some matching poses, haha :)

Until next time!

Dress a Day in July: The Eighteenth

Dress: ASOS | Wedges: TOMS | Ring: Boutique on Columbia Road (Brand: White Leaf)

Here's a colorful number for day 18! This was an ASOS purchase made a couple years ago. I really liked the digital/almost 90's print, and the two lace keyholes just under the neckline. I saw this as another good opportunity to bring out my TOMS wedges that I really need to wear more often. I kept accessories pretty minimal (which is quite normal for me) with my usual leather bracelet and this patterned ring, another favorite London find. I stumbled upon this find as I was browsing the cute shops along Columbia Road while on a visit to the flower market, one of my very favorite places in London.

*Side note: this is unexpectedly one of my favorite posts from DADJ…just thought I'd throw that out there haha! (Tanks Natalie, hehe!)

Now, let's end this post with a lovely derpy outtake:

Until next time!

Dress a Day in July: The Seventeenth

Dress: Urban Outfitters | Necklace: Popbasic

Yet again, here's another old favorite that I've had since high school. Natalie (again my photographer for today, hehe!) actually found this while we were shopping at Urban Outfitters one day, and suggested that I try it on. I'm a sucker for girly white dresses, and I especially like the scooped neckline and cute bow in the back of the dress. It's quite a light and airy dress yet again, which makes it pretty perfect for summer in my opinion! Natalie and I both agreed that this would be the perfect dress to pair with my amethyst necklace from Popbasic's "Lost" collection that I bought last year. The stone is a little bit of a lighter amethyst color than these pictures show, and I love that it's quite different than other necklaces in my collection.

Dress a Day in July: The Sixteenth

Dress: Cotton On | Sandals: Saltwaters | Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters | Silver ring: Topshop | Colorful glass ring: purchased in Venice

Another rediscovered dress that was purchased a couple years ago. This is quite a summery and light dress, and one with a cute triangle cut-out in the back (I'm definitely into dresses with back details as you can probably tell from a few of my earlier posts!). I decided to bring out my white Saltwaters that I haven't worn in ages since they pair with the dress pretty nicely. For some added fun I put on my colorful floral sunglasses. Natalie chose my accessories again on this day, picking out one of my favorite silver midi rings from Topshop and my colorful glass ring that I purchased while I was in Venice a few months ago (it's one of my favorite travel souvenirs I brought back with me).

Here's an outtake from when we tried to get a cool shot of throwing rose petals in the air…ahaha:

Until next time!

Dress a Day in July: The Fifteenth

Dress: Urban Outfitters | Wedges: Forever 21 | Necklace: Free People

This dress is another old favorite. It's such a comfortable dress that's made of a thicker material than usual, something I really like about it. I also dig the color scheme and pattern. I've come to realize that I'm really into midi-styles, I find them much more comfortable to wear than dresses on the shorter side since I feel less self-conscious about making sure my skirt isn't riding up. I also think the knee-length hemline is pretty flattering. Me gusta, haha! I paired this dress with some nude wedges that I don't think I've actually ever worn out…*side look* (I know :p). I also wore one of my favorite necklaces ever, and the "type" of moon written on the disc corresponds to my birthday month (yay for October babies!).

Dress a Day in July: The Fourteenth

Dress: Forever 21 | Shoes: American Eagle Outfitters | Bag: Madewell

There's a somewhat interesting story behind how I added this dress to my wardrobe about two years ago. Natalie (who I've mentioned before and has been my photographer lately, hehe) accidentally bought two of these dresses from Forever 21 and ended up selling them to me and our other friend, Tara. Anywho, I quite like the sort of shirtdress style as it's different from what I usually tend to buy. I also love the colors and botanical print of the dress. I wore these tan woven sandals which I purchased last year, and I liked how the color of the shoes went well with the color of my bag and belt.

Dress a Day in July: The Thirteenth

Dress: Forever 21 | Skirt: Topshop | Sandals: Topshop | Necklace: Wishlist London | Bunny ring: Etsy |  Curved midi ring: The Bohemian Collective | Thick midi ring: Topshop

I've had this Forever 21 floral dress since about junior year of high school (I think), and hadn't worn it in quite a long time. It's a bit of a short dress on me now, so I decided to put on my favorite skater skirt from Topshop. My sandals, which are also from Topshop, were purchased a few months ago for my spring break travels, and they are some of the comfiest sandals I own. My friend (and photographer for my next few outfit posts, hehe thanks girl!) Natalie chose my accessories for this outfit, which included my simple Wishlist London disc necklace (my keepsake from London Fashion Weekend), a bunny ring from Etsy (purchase inspired by Laura from buynowbloglater), a curved midi ring from The Bohemian Collection (purchase inspired by some British Youtubers), and a thicker band midi ring from Topshop (purchased last year while in Vegas). Though I often keeps things very minimal when it comes to accessories, I do enjoy wearing multiple rings sometimes!

Dress a Day in July: The Twelfth

Dress: Brandy Melville | Shoes: Birkenstocks

Day 12 was quite a busy day. There was lots to do since I spent most of the day with family from out of town, and later in the day I was off to celebrate one of my best friend's (herro dearest if you're reading this!) birthday. I kept things simple and decided to wear this comfortable Brandy Melville dress which features a cool back cut-out. Paired with my favorite shoe of the moment, I was all set.

Today's outtake features a cute little photoshoot crasher who ran right up to me (ahhhh the cuteness was too much to handle) while Fran and I were taking pictures! Shortly after this was taken, I carried the little guy back to his rightful home :)

Until next time!

Dress a Day in July: The Eleventh

Dress: Brandy Melville | Blouse: Urban Outfitters | Shoes: Birkenstocks | Bracelet: Free People

As much as I love wearing dresses, by day 11 I started feeling a bit tired of them (gasp!). Don't get me wrong, dresses are quite often my clothing of choice, however I'm starting to feel like my outfits have gotten a bit boring lately. I decided to add some layering to the mix to try and make things a bit less redundant, and this floaty collared blouse was perfect to layer over this striped spaghetti strap dress. I like the lightness of the blouse since it didn't make me feel uncomfortably warm in this already warm summer weather (though later that evening when I met up with some friends to hang out, I was pretty chilly outside when nighttime rolled around). Seeing as my outfit was quite monochrome, I accessorized with this colorful bracelet from Free People (a purchase inspired by my cousin, Fran, who also has the same one…hehe). I love the combination of colored threads, glass hearts, and other small embellishments on the bracelet, which all seem very summery to me.

Dress a Day in July: The Tenth

Dress: Target | Sandals: Prabal Gurung for Target

Day 10 was another chill day/picture catch-up day for DADJ. My lovely friend Lindsey helped me take  these photos, as well as ones for Day 4. Besides having a mini "photoshoot"(a term used very loosely around here, haha) and then picking up some Starbucks afterwards, my day probably consisted of a lot of Netflix/Youtube watching…such a bum. Anyways, since I wasn't doing much on this day I opted for this super comfortable Target dress, which also makes a nice swimsuit cover-up (I brought this with me on a trip to Hawaii a couple years back!). To complete the outfit I chose my comfortable Prabal Gurung for Target (which may be my favorite collaboration Target has done as of now) sandals. Again, Target ftw!
